Blue Economy Cooperative Research Centre Board visit to AUT
The Blue Economy Cooperative Research Centre (BE CRC) Board visit to AUT took place on the 9th and 10th August 2022. Blue Economy CRC, Australia is a leading research body that brings together 44 industry, government, and research partners from ten countries with expertise in aquaculture, marine renewable energy, maritime engineering, environmental assessments and policy and regulation. Their main research focus is on offshore aquaculture and renewable energy production. During the visit Professor Irene Penesis, Research Director of BE CRC, unfolded their vision and discussed prospective research collaborations with AUT.
CFPER is currently leading a BE CRC project on System level modelling for Offshore power systems. Avy Sheina is the current PhD student of CFPER funded by Blue Economy CRC. Her research is on the development of a protection and control mechanism for the Low Voltage DC microgrid in shipboard application.
